vista

Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows XP SP2

install

winzipYour program will come in a .zip file package. You will need an unzip program to unzip the program. If your machine is not equipped with an unzip program we suggest WinZip at http://www.winzip.com/
(nope, this is not an affiliate link).

Unzip your FileMaker database Program to your desktop, hard drive or to where ever you want the program to reside but It is important to remember to keep the program files contained in their own folder (the folder they came in).

After you uzip your program open the program folder and look for the .exe file. (See Figure 1.0) Once you locate the program .exe file you will need to create a shortcut to it from where ever you want to run the program from, this might be from your desktop or your start menu.

To create a shortcut from the .exe file simply put your mouse cursor over the .exe file, right-click it and while holding the right mouse button down drag the file to your selected area, release the right mouse button and select from the context menu that pops up “create short cut here”.

That’s it, your FileMaker program is installed. Simple, quick and easy.
Your FileMaker program does not write to ANY existing Windows files as it is a completely “self-contained” program.

To UN-install your FileMaker database just simply delete the folder it sits in and it’s gone without a trace of ever being on your machine (except for the shortcut you made which can be deleted as easily as it was put there).
